President

James Verdi, CFP®, is President of Synergy Wealth Strategies, an independent financial services firm. Jim specializes in using an in-depth, overall,financial analysis approach to assist his clients in creating wealth management strategies that enable them to achieve their financial goals.  Prior to founding Synergy Wealth Strategies, Jim spent over 20 years developing his skills and advising clients at the world’s largest and most recognizable firms.  In 2008, Jim and his team determined that the best way to provide the levels of service and advice that their clients deserved was to pursue the path of independent financial advisors and is still going strong over 15 years later.  He and his team deliver solutions to ‘high net worth’ individuals, as well as businesses and Non-Profit organizations.

As a CFP® Practitioner, Jim is actively involved in many stages of his individual clients’ Financial and Life Planning. He pays particular attention to advising clients and their families on wealth preservation, portfolio management, developing income strategies for their retirement, focusing on estate planning issues, and coordinating their philanthropic efforts.  He also serves as advisor to numerous Trusts and Endowments and works actively with the Families of Children With Disabilities Program by helping families plan for their ‘special needs’ members.  Jim works very closely with his clients’ attorneys and tax advisors to be certain that all aspects of the financial plan are legally sound and structured to minimize taxes while staying within the Regulations of the Internal Revenue Service.

Jim has also proven to be a valuable resource for numerous businesses and organizations throughout several states.  He assists businesses of all sizes, and their owners and executives, with a broad array of services including cash management, retirement plans and 401k’s, company stock issues, and succession planning.  He has extensive experience assisting not-for-profit organizations in the areas of endowment management, creating Investment Policy Statements, and developing and implementing Planned Giving strategies.

Jim has honored by The Long Island Business News with his inclusion in the 2012 “40 Under 40” recognizing Long Island’s top professionals under the age of 40 and has received several industry awards and acknowledgments.  He is very active within the community and serves on the Board of Directors of several organizations.  As Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance and Investment Committee for the Middle Country Library Foundation, he is actively involved in many of the foundations projects and objectives, including Family Place Libraries, The Miller Business Resource Center, The Women’s Expo, and the Community Resource Database.  He also serves on the Board of Directors of the A.C.E Family Foundation where he is actively involved with supporting families in need throughout the local community.  Additionally, Jim is a frequent lecturer, presenting on all aspects of financial planning to senior citizen groups; business, civic, and charitable organizations; and various other educational forums throughout Long Island and Queens.

Jim received his Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from Adelphi University, where he was the recipient of the Economics Department Award of Excellence recognizing the top student of that year’s graduating class.  He completed his education requirement for the Certified Financial Planner designation at the American College.  James continues to pursue his studies in the areas of financial planning and portfolio management.  He also continues to pursue new business, civic and charitable activities in our communities.

Jim and his wife Angela currently split their time between Patchogue, NY and Boynton Beach, FL and are the proud parents of two college students.
